Grandparents & Grandfriends’ Day
Grandparents and Grandfriends’ Day has grown to become one of the Academy’s most cherished events. It is a special time to show our family and friends what we love most about our school and allow them to catch a glimpse of our daily life on campus.
Grandparents or a special friend/relative (in the absence of a grandparent) are invited to attend chapel, followed by a delicious brunch put on by the PTF and our school families. Guests are also invited to stop by the student's classroom to observe the class in action and meet the teachers.
During the 2020-2021 academic school year, we will be holding a “Virtual Grandparents’ Day.” Please stay tuned for more details.
When the holidays are upon us, each class puts together their own Thanksgiving Luncheon and Christmas Party. The teachers plan these much-loved celebrations with the help of their Room Parents and Party Parent. Memories are made, thanks is given, and the birth of Jesus celebrated at these treasured classroom events.
December Staff Giving/Bonus
As the Christmas season joyfully approaches, the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) invites you to help bless our teachers and staff at Whitefish Christian Academy with a monetary gift. These gifts – distributed proportionally to each of our exceptional teachers and staff members – afford us an opportunity to show our gratitude to our teachers and staff for their role in educating and guiding our children.
Christmas & Spring Concerts
Our WCA families are truly blessed each winter and spring with a children's concert from our music department. Instrumentalists, individual and combined classes and various student soloists praise His name as they display the musical and vocal talents they develop throughout the school year. This is an event you and your family won't want to miss!
Winter Carnival Parade Float
Everyone loves a parade! The Academy is sure to enter a float in the community's Whitefish Winter Carnival. The students and parents get very involved decorating the school bus or float and dressing up in the year's parade theme. Walking in the parade and passing out candy is a great way to spread the word about our exceptional school, and have fun together in this yearly community event.
Valentine's Blessing is our school's expression of love to our valued elderly in the community of Whitefish. Cards are handmade by the students and goodie bags full of treats, both sweet and healthy, are put together and delivered with love the week of Valentine's. The real joy comes from hand delivering the bags and cards to various care facilities where smiles and hugs abound!
Annual Auction Dinner
Each spring, the families of WCA and our beloved Whitefish community come together for a night of food, music and fellowship to raise essential funds to run our Classical Christian school. WCA is committed to making classical, Christian education affordable for families, and our annual auction is vital in continuing that mission. This informative and fun evening gives the guests insight into our current and future endeavors and offers a plethora of quality items to bid on during the silent and live auction. Dressing for the event's theme is always a highlight and our live auctioneer makes the bidding exciting!
The Academy honors our hard working community servants each year by providing them with a basket full of goodies! Each class will assemble their community basket together and the teacher will coordinate when that basket will be delivered to our community servants: fire department, police department, various city employees, librarians, sanitation engineers, postal workers and more!
Each teacher will be communicating with the class on which items to bring to create a nice basket of items for their selected community service group. A sign up should go out to your class (either the room parent creates a Sign Up Genius or via the classroom newsletter from the teacher) asking students to bring the requested items (bars, treats, healthy snacks, drinks, etc.) to school by a certain day.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week is always the second week of May. We have an incredible, gratitude-filled week planned for our Academy teachers and staff. Each student/family is encouraged to show their appreciation throughout the week. Here are some ideas:
Bring them a latte or sweet treat.
Have your child draw them a picture.
Write a nice note.
Give them a gift card to a local restaurant/ coffee shop.
Bring Flowers or a plant to brighten their desk.
The PTF and generous sponsors will be providing lunch for the teachers and staff 2 days during this week. In addition, PTF plans a fun-filled tea party with snacks and treats in the teachers’ lounge.
Thanks to all our families for showing thanks and love!
End of Year Party
That's a wrap! What a fun way to end the school year with a popsicle and an afternoon playing on our WCA playground with your school friends (weather permitting).
