Music Director

Our Academy seeks a Music Director for grades K-8. The qualified candidate will fulfill these responsibilities:

  • In unison with the Head of School, the Music Director will develop and fine-tune a curriculum for grades K-8 – one that integrates well with our Academy’s broader classical course of study. Ideally, that curriculum will blend practical instruction (in reading, singing/playing music) with instruction in music history and appreciation.

  • The Music Director will hold class on designated instruction-days and will teach grades K-8.

  • In the winter, the Music Director will orchestrate a Christmas Concert; in the spring, the Director will orchestrate a Spring Concert. Preparation leading up to those concerts will likewise be the responsibility of the Director.

  • The Music Director will lead Chapel worship on Fridays and will lead other school-wide worship moments throughout the week as well.

Here are the Academy’s desired qualifications for this role:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in music or a related field.

  • Knowledge of music history and theory.

  • Experience in elementary music instruction.

  • The ability to teach voice, guitar, keyboard and/or other instruments.

Interested candidates are invited to send their resumes and a cover letter to Mrs. Rachel Erickson, Head of School, at rerickson@whitefishchristianacademy.org. This position will commence in the coming academic year, 2024-2025.
